Arrival!
Well I boarded the plane in Atlanta at around 6:00 P.M. Friday night and before I knew it, we were off to L.A. It was such a coincedence when I sat down and realized that the man next to me was also going to Brisbane on the same plane as me! He is New Yorker who has lived in Brisbane with his family for the past 5 years. He told me a little bit about the geography of the country and what foods to try while I'm here. (tim tams are a must as well as Veggie-Mite!) I'm not sure how to spell either, but that's the way they are pronounced. He told me a lot of slang words they use (biscuits=cookies). Well we had a 3-hour layover and he let me come around with him because the airport was ridiculously huge and a bit confusing for me! I met a lot of aussies while waiting for the plane and they told me all the hot spots i should visit. I got picked up by two of the aboriginal guys on base named Kaleb and Moa. We went back to base (about an hour drive from the airport) and the people were absolutely wonderful! Austrailand is beautiful so far and the people are all so friendly and welcoming! The production team on base put on a special show for us-fire dancing and hula style dancing! It was amazing. I have to go to breakfast now..by the way, we are 14 hours ahead of the U.S. until daylight saving. Aussie Alice out!
